Frequently Asked Questions

What is Laser Loot?
Laser Loot is the all encompassing term used to describe discretionary funds that may be used like cash in various venues on the Lasell Campus. Like many college and university dining programs, we adopted Laser Loot based on the Lasell College athletic icon of "Lasers".

Any student or employee of Lasell College may sign up for a Laser Loot account.  You may deposit any amount into your account at any time.  Please visit Campus Police for assistance in adding Laser Loot to your student account.  Your college ID is also your Laser Loot Card.  When using Laser Loot, simply present your ID to the cashier and your account will be debited for the appropriate amount.  The money you add to your Laser Loot account will roll over each semester and year to year as long as you are an active student/employee.  Some desposits to Laser Loot are non-refundable and non-transferable if you leave Lasell for any reason.

What's the difference between the different "funds" that show on my Laser Loot Account?
Laser Loot is a broad term that actually has "buckets" for 5 different funds.  Below is an explaination of funds.

Laser Loot is money that is deposited by mail, in person, or by phone through Campus Police.

These funds may be used in any dining service area or in the bookstore. These funds are eligible for bonuses during certain promotions.

Bookstore is typically money that is deposited through the Student Accounts office as a transfer from a student account.  This is money that is left on a student account once all tuition, room and board and fees have been paid.  Certain federal guidelines may allow for refunding of this money.  Please contact the bookstore for details if you have questions.  These funds may be used in the bookstore only.

Bonus Bucks is money that is attached to a  deposit during a promotion or as a prize or giveaway by Sodexo.   Bonus Bucks may ONLY be used in dining service areas.  Bonus Bucks are not refundable.

Employee Bucks is money that is added to student accounts as a bonus for working more than 10 hours per week.  One dollar in bonus bucks are paid for each hour a student works in dining services over 10 hours.  Employee Bucks may be cancelled at any time, and purchases are subject to approval from the general manager.  Employee Bucks are not subject to bonus add on, and are not refundable.  Employee Bucks may only be used in dining services.  Employee Bucks that are left over at the end of the academic year are cleared unless a student works during the summer months.

Dining Dollars are funds that are attached to resident meal plans and can only be used in dining service venues.  Dining Dollars not used by the end of the semester are cancelled and have no cash value.  Different meal plans have different dollar amounts associated with them.
